ASE: Saturday Academy's Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering

Learn first-hand about science or engineering as a career. Students assist scientists and engineers in a variety of fields for eight weeks during the summer. Students are able to help with real-world projects while being an integral member of a professional team. The benefits are many: you gain valuable pre-professional experience, you get to test out a particular career first-hand and see if it´s what you want to pursue, and you have the satisfaction and confidence from having completed one or more projects or contributed meaningful work to a larger, on-going project.

The Business Education Compact

Get a flavor for working in the real world, make some great connections, have something to put on your resume, and get paid for doing it. There are many positions out there, such as web design, administrative assistance, network support, marketing, community relations, hardware maintenance, software development, and more.

Metro Regional Parks & Greenspaces Volunteer Program

Would you like to lead nature tours? maintain and improve regional parks? Metro will give you the training and the opportunity of a lifetime.

VA Career Focus

This program is an innovative educational opportunity that allows junior and senior students to earn 1.25 elective credits per term while participating in a work-based learning experience. Students will develop skills needed to compete in today's work force. Students are on site at the Portland VA Medical Center Monday through Friday from 8:00-11:00 a.m. Students attend their home high school for the remainder of the school day.
