EMPLOYERS - Tomorrow's Engineers

Support Tomorrow's Engineers!

Each February, the BEC connects hundreds of engineers with Oregon classrooms to make learning real for students. These engineers represent scores of local companies across multiple engineering disciplines, providing interactive demonstrations to thousands of local students that show the value and magic of engineering.

The Goals

Since the BEC launched its NEM program in 1995, the BEC has sent approximately 4,000 engineers to 6,500 classrooms, reaching 200,000 students.

"I got to see the light of imagination come on in several students' eyes as they thought about the materials presented and participated in the project that I prepared. Fully worth the price of admission."

"It was great to have someone in the 'real' world talking about how they use science skills in their job. It really brings home to kids that school matters."
