There are expected to be 50+ PAID Summer Crew Leader Internships available throughout Oregon in summer 2009. These will be exceptional opportunities for college students that love the outdoors and are eager to gain invaluable practical experience in natural resources and conservation. Details of the summer forestry projects are forthcoming. The BEC is currently accepting applications in anticipation of the upcoming projects.
Prospective Summer Crew Leader Interns must be adventurous and have experience in an outdoor environment. Other qualities include a strong work ethic, the desire to work in a leadership role with youth, a passion for preserving our natural environment as well as a commitment to team success.

Position Details
- Paid summer intern positions
- Occur in forests and parks throughout Oregon (locations to be determined)
- Start and end dates will vary by project
- Duration is 40 hours per week for 8 weeks
- Specific positions posted on website as they become available

- Campground enhancement
- Seed collection

- Natural resource enhancement and restoration
Expected Position Requirements
- College student, at least 20 years old
- One year college education in related field, or one year field experience, preferably working with youth in a field setting
- Clean driving record for the past two years (Drivers License Background Check required)
- Experience in the outdoors
- Ability to lift 60 lbs
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent judgment and risk management skills
- Ability to listen, give and take feedback and learn continuously
- Desire to go the extra mile to make a positive impact on the crew and the environment
