EDUCATORS

Types of Internships

Internship - General

Designed to provide any K-20 educator with valuable professional development opportunity while providing productive work for the business. These internships are generally 4-8 weeks in length and involve completing a specific project for the business.

Internship - Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Designed to provide necessary business-related experience required for licensure renewal for Career and Technical Education teachers. CTE teachers receive practical business experience and develop technical skills that can be applied to classroom instruction. Specific learning objectives are pre-identified by the intern. CTE internships will vary in length and compensation level.

Length of Internship and Work Schedule

The length of the internship is based upon the business's estimation of time needed to complete the project. If the project is completed in less time than allotted, the internship may be shortened. If more time is needed, the business may request the educator to continue longer if possible.

The weekly schedule is negotiated between the business mentor/supervisor and the intern. An internship 'week' may range from 30-40 hours at the discretion of the mentor/supervisor.
