How It Works
- Submit Application: Fill out the Educator Application Form to let the BEC know you are interested in a summer internship.
- Position Matching: The BEC carefully reviews and screens educator intern applications. Those with qualifications that most closely match employer project needs are forwarded to the employer for review.
- Employer Interviews: Employer performs candidate interviews and notifies the BEC of their top choice.
- Hiring: If you are selected the BEC hires you and provides program materials for your participation and payroll services.
- Internship Reflection: Complete and send the BEC the Internship Reflection concerning the transfer of key workplace learning to your classroom. Upon receipt, the $100 deposit will be refunded (must be received by 12/31).
College and Professional Development Credit: Up to three credit hours of graduate credit is available through Portland State University. To obtain credit, educators must complete a Curriculum Plan demonstrating in detail how they will bring their internship experiences into the classroom. The Business Education Compact will collect registration and payment. Interns can also receive up to 60 Professional Development Units for participating in an internship.
